What types of LinkedIn campaigns can I run with STACKED?

STACKED supports four types of drip campaigns, depending on whether you’re targeting prospects who are already connected to you on LinkedIn or people outside your network:

Campaign type Best for LinkedIn connection degree
Preconnect Reaching prospects before connecting 2nd and 3rd+ degree
Postconnect Engaging existing connections 1st degree
Connect Connecting and following up Mixed - 1st, 2nd and 3rd+ degree
Visit Visiting LinkedIn profiles Mixed - all degrees

The campaign type determines which LinkedIn actions you can include and which prospects can be processed by the campaign.

Preconnect campaign

Use a Preconnect campaign when you want to engage prospects who are not currently connected to you on LinkedIn.

It supports 2nd- and 3rd+ degree prospects and can include actions such as:

  • Visit
  • Like a post
  • InMail
  • Follow

Because this campaign is designed for unconnected prospects, it does not include actions that require an existing LinkedIn connection, such as Direct Messages.

Postconnect campaign

Use a Postconnect campaign for prospects who are already your 1st-degree LinkedIn connections.

Available actions include:

  • Visit
  • Direct Message
  • Endorse
  • Like a post

This is useful when you already have a LinkedIn connection and want to create a follow-up or nurturing sequence without sending another connection request.

Connect campaign

A Connect campaign supports both connected and unconnected prospects and can include all available campaign actions.

This makes it suitable for lists containing a mixture of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd+ degree prospects.

STACKED applies rules to the sequence so that actions occur at an appropriate point in the connection process. In particular:

  • InMails can only be scheduled before the connection request.
  • Follow-up messages cannot be scheduled before the connection request.
  • Endorsements cannot be scheduled before the connection request.

For example, you could create a campaign that engages an unconnected prospect, sends a connection request and then follows up after they become a connection.

If your prospect list contains a mixture of connection degrees, a Connect campaign is generally the most flexible option because it supports both connected and unconnected LinkedIn prospects.

Visit campaign

A Visit campaign contains profile visit actions only and can be used with prospects of any LinkedIn connection degree.

Use this campaign when your workflow only requires STACKED to visit the enrolled LinkedIn profiles rather than send connection requests or messages.

You may see an Activity Log error indicating that profiles are not supported by the target campaign when the enrolled prospect cannot be processed using that campaign’s LinkedIn actions.

For example, enrolling a 1st-degree connection into a Preconnect campaign creates a mismatch: Preconnect campaigns are intended for prospects who aren’t connected to you.

If this happens, check the prospect’s LinkedIn connection degree and enrol them in a campaign that supports it.
