How to send gender-specific messages with Dux-Soup

In certain languages, such as German, formal speaking or writing requires gender specificity. By default, LinkedIn doesn’t display gender unless users choose to identify it. In this article, you will learn how to scan your target audience, upload this list to a third party to detect gender, and use this information to send gender-specific messages with Dux-Soup.

Use the Scan option to scrape profile names

To begin with, create a search on LinkedIn, select the target filters, click on the Dux-Soup icon, and choose the Scan option:

Note: You need to have the option to record profiles enabled before you scan. Learn how to record profile data in a CSV file here.

Afterwards, click on the Dux-Soup icon and download the list.

Detect Gender with a Third-Party Service

Go to Gender-API or a similar website, and follow the on-screen steps to upload the file. Once your file is ready, open the file and sort profiles by gender.

Create Gender-Specific Campaigns

You can now make two files: one for female salutations and one for male salutations.

Then, use these files to run two different campaigns in Turbo or Cloud, or upload these files to the Revisit Data Tool if you have Pro.
